I was thinking of getting around 5 ghost shrimp and maybe 1 crayfish, will they be fine with each other in a 10 gallon heavily planted tank? Can the crayfish kill and eat fish? What other kind of inverts should i put in my 10 gallon heavily planted tank? Like shrimp, clams, crabs, ect.

Nope. Your crayfish will attack your shrimps. The same thing can be said with all other creatures including fish.;) Crayfish are not intended for planted tanks where they can wreak havoc.

My friends crayfish doesn't attack his ghost shrimp. He has a 3 inch crayfish with 20+ ghost shrimp in a 10 gallon.

Much depends on the species of crayfish. Many crays will shred living plants to create a floating cover to 'hide' under. That is similar to what they do in the wild. You should only keep a dwarf species of crayfish in a 10g tank. The non dwarf species will get cramped with that small of space. Remember, crayfish will stick to the bottom 99% of the time.

I know many people who keep shrimp and crayfish together with varied degrees of success. As a rule, don't keep anything with crayfish that you absolutely don't want eaten.

Good luck!

What kind of inverts would everyone suggest in a 10 gallon heavily planted tank?

Sounds like it might make a good cherry shrimp tank. I'd probably put cherries (or some other dwarf shrimp - even ghosts) in there.

RCS (Neocaridina denticulata sen... sp?) thrive in just about any water type, soft, hard, in between, you can't go wrong with them. You could also go with Crystal Red, or other Caridina species, if your water is soft enough, and cool enough. Though you could only keep one Caridina species since they will crossbreed, creating 'mutt shrimp'.
