Hi folks,
I'm sorry I'm charging into this and not engaging in proper netiquette by introducing myself but I need some help with my Betta.
About a week ago, he seemed to be unable to surface. He was more or less swimming slowly along the bottom of his bowl (a 2gal). His caudal fin seemed to be displaced and pointed upwards and he seemed to have problems with maintaining his balance and surfacing.
pH was 7.2, water temp about 78 deg F.
I did a water change using Betta Plus and new gravel. I then went through a course using BettaFix for about 3 days. Suddenly, one morning, I found him back at the surface! :D
He seems to be doing better but when he swims it's still very spasdic.
I've now switched and am trying Betta Revive which is knida disconcerting since it turns the water blue.
Though he seems to be doing better, he hasn't eaten for probably 7 days! He won't take his regular food (dried blood worms) so I switched today and tried to feed him a live black worm from the end of a toothpick.
He watched it wiggle in front of his eye but didn't really go for it.
I am really kinda at my wits end.
Do you have any suggestions as to what I can try and how I can get him eating again?
TIA for all your help!
