aeration? I heard that they don't, but is it better for them? My tank is planted so thats why I took out the airstone. Loss of co2. Will this affect my RCS and MTS?

nah.......dont worry about that. Im sure your plants already give off PLENTY of oxygen.

the plants will give off enough for ur rcs and ur snails will surface if they need any.
if they do start to spend alot of time at the surface you may need to add and air stone.

You didnt say if any filtration on the tank. I've had several tanks with rams and MTS. I found the water would get 'nasty' between wc's faster w/o aeration, than with...plants or not
with a sponge filter in a lightly planted 4g (java fern and hornwort)...loads of rams and MTS...I could go several weeks without PWCs

Oh yeah I have a HOB filter and when the water falls out there are airbubbles circulating. A lot of my snails are on the glass near the top of the tank. It seems that they don't have enough air. The 2 cherry shrimp and running around at the bottom fine I think. Some MTS are out of the water right now.

if you have a hob then you dont need a air stone. i have no air pumps on my tanks.
