I am just about ready to set up my 120 gal tank. i want it to be planted, but i dont have any light. what is the best set up for a planted tank. the tank is 6' by 2'. i think that 2.5w/g is normal. i am not sure.

also what are the easyest plants out there to grow? i dont want to wast a lot of money and all the plants die on me.

i think the best way to do lighting on a large tank is to start off well. start off with good equipment so you dont need to waste money upgrading later.

usually for a large tank, PC lighting and metal halide are the only choice. or vho lighting. the good thing about metal halide is that if it's in a pendant that is suspended above the tank, you could have an open top with plants growing out of it. plus you can have very nice aquascape by placing a huge peice of driftwood that is higher than the water level.
