Will a 60 watt spiral bulb work for freshwater plants? Can it work on a 10 gallon tank?

Ok, thanks for the info everyone!!! I don't know how much k it is, it says its a daylight bulb. Do you thing if i put 120 watts of the spiral bulb over the 10 gallon tank that i can keep ANY ANY kind of fresh water plant?

Keep in mind that the spiral shape of the bulb causes a lot of restrike, and it's smaller size means it doesn't "cover as much ground" as other bulbs. Other than that, they've worked well for me. And it does get quite hot.

You should also check how many watts your ballast can actually power.

no, it's not. It has to say "daylight". They tend to be more expensive - they give off light that has a broader spectrum of light, unlike traditional florescent bulbs.

120W would give you 12wpg, which would let you grow a wide range of plants, but you'll have to do some serious co2 dosing, and get your fish some shades.

Will the Soft White Light work for the freshwater plants also? What do you mean my get my fish some shades? Do you mean shade for the fish? Like a cave or something like that?

I forgot to say that the the spiral bulbs that i'm talking about are Compact Fluorescent, and are soft white light.

The fixture that i want to put the spiral bulbs in can handle 2 330 Watt bulbs.
