I have a series of ponds and am looking for some advice to keep herons from eating my babies. They have been making short work of any fish I try to raise. Any ideas?

Netting is ugly to the max! I'm trying to find something a little more subdued. Any ideas? I have spent time searching the internet, but have yet to find anything which; looks like it will work, is inexpensive, and not ugly. I'm going to continue my search and see what's out there!

My parents had the same problem. They placed one of those fake owls nearby and the herons have stayed away since.
