i currently have two baby african albino cichlids, but i want to know if they will ever grow big enough to eat minos. and are jack dempseys really cool? i was told that they are super agressive and will kill and eat small fish even as babies.

my jack isnt really aggressive unless theres a bigger fish than him in his tank. and yes they do try to eat smaller fish as babies.

My Electric Blue Dempsey Male is actually calm and doesnt harass my smaller fish, however my 3" female regular dempsey chases the smaller around all the time. If you want a vicious cichlid I recommend a Texas Cichlid, Midas, Red Devil, Green Terror, Salvini, etc..... Mainly central/south american cichlids from what ive seen are a bit more vicious than africans. CA/SA Cichlids love to eat minnows, I feed my Jacks, and Jaquar cichlids rosy red minnows, my Jag tears into them like no tomorrow.

If this is the 30 gallon you are talking about in other threads, a 30 gallon is no place for a Dempsey or Africans. Both get too big to be in a 30 gallon. Plus a JD should not be mixed in with africans. In the other thread you stated that the africans were medium, but in this one babies. A jack could easily eat any small africans. Also, africans should not be fed feeders. DO SOME RESEARCH!!!
