My Krib is missing, and the new Cobalt Zebra I added to the tank has a visible buldge in his abdomen and mouth...

How did this happen?

Well I had 17 fish in my tank. MBuna, haps and so forth, and 1 Krib.

All the fish were added when they were small... and they are still small. The largest fish is may 3.5 inches.

Once or twice I have thrown a tiny guppy into the tank, and even the largest fish (the 3.5" Venustus) had trouble getting it into its mouth, so I thought I was safe.

The krib was from head to tail almost as long as the fish I suspect ate it.

The fish in the tank pretty much ignored the Krib altogether... Until I added the new one.

Oh well... Live and learn... Sob...

Well... now I get to buy another one! :D... When I setup another tank of course.

I strongly suspect the krib was dead before it was eaten.

What do you know... The Krib is Alive! :p

It must have just been hiding...

I knew that fish was too big and fast to get eaten!

So then... that Zebra must be holding Fry?

Its got a buldge in its lower jaw, that it didnt have 2 days ago, and its not eating... It swims up to the food... looks at it then swims away...

Is it about to spit out fry?

If so... should I remove it from the tank?

It's holding.

I wouldn't remove it - they're probably still just eggs and it will spit them out if you disturb it.

I'd be inclined to leave it be. I find the fry survive on their own.
