________

It's very sad he died with that 'stingray' strike...

Stingrays...

Steve "did" want his demise to be posted and viewed should he ever make a fatal "error." (Crocs or otherwise)
He did say this as a warning to others to 'be careful' ....

But, that has not happened - and possibly for the best.

We all need to remember, life is precious, and it can be taken away from the most experienced of us that want to get closer to the "wild" creatures that live amongst us!

It was a very sad day 1 year ago to learn that such a down to earth, regular guy could die so suddenly like that. I too cannot believe it has been one year already. One can only imagine what his family must be going through even today.

RIP Steve, Animal Planet hasn't been the same without you!

I always watched him religiously...never missed a show. And he was on Saturdays in the morning. I will miss his shows (but repeats are great also). And now Bindy has her own show "Jungle Girl", I watch that also...

His best line " Crocky, Mate"..he will be missed. I watched all the tributes of him on Animal Planet.

A year later, this still depresses the hell out of me. And I never knew the man personally. I almost skipped work the day it happened. I felt so sad and just...rotten. If I feel like this, I can only imagine what his family is going through. Rest in peace Steve. You changed the world more than you'll ever know. :(

Steve was just such a great person. i still feel so sad by his death. What celebrity could still make you feel bad after a year it is still such an unbelievable thing.

funny how we can miss someone we never met. he was an example of the purest of the good people. makes me mad why he had to die and not a scum bag like a murderer instead. his cute little girl is so much like him, even looks like him. it's great they are keeping the zoo and his legacy in full steam ahead.
