I know this sounds like an idiotic question.....but this guy has been going to town on the diatoms, and seems to pick at what little bit of flake food that hits the bottom that the chromis happen to miss during their feeding frenzies. I am wondering if he needs more, or should I just let him graze at the bottom? My concern is that the diatoms appear to be going away...
Thanks!!!

He'll eat more than diatoms but if you're worried he doesn't have enough to eat in a new tank you can see if he'll take herbivore foods.

He seems to be ok...I don't think he's getting thin or anything. Maybe I'll put some food in...at the very least maybe it'll entice him to come out a little more often:D.
Thanks so much!

My Bicolor Blenny ate heaps of algae (green and brown) but I also fed him prepared 'meaty' foods and he absolutely loved it. He also took pellets, nori and flake. A varied diet is always best but don't panic if he won't take offered food, he might just like the algae better :).

I can't say firsthand, since I'm five states away at the moment, but my wife tells me that she picked up some sort of shrimp pellets at the LFS and my blenny "Lorax" loves it. Apparently he actually comes out and eats the stuff.
Or maybe she'd just telling me this so I won't fret. :D

I don't have a blenny, but my goby comes out to partake of the meaty foods in the evening feeding. He is pretty indiscriminate on what he takes it just needs to be small enough for him to get into his mouth. If its to large he spits it back out.
