My hairgrass is full of algae. except the new growth on the top. Can I cut it back to a few inches or will it die? I really like this stuff, and I had a hard time finding it. Any help?

I don't know about your giant hairgrass... as I had a dwarf variety but this might be interesting for you.

Thanks. I trimmed almost all of the algae covered grass and left the new greener ones alone. Now I am going on vacation. When I get back, everthing will probably be covered in algae (don't trust anyone to fertilize!). Oh well, if it dies I'll just find something else.
