Hi,

I have a 75g FOWLR with the following:

60lbs of substrate
40lbs of live rock (Working on 75-90)

Stocked with:

1 Blue regal tang
1 percula clown
1 3 striped/humbug damsel
1 false gamma/royal dottyback

Everything is going well as I progress on the life of my aquarium. My biggest question lately has been what I should use as a cleanup crew. The false gamma will eat shrimp so they are out of the question.

I was thinking maybe turbo snails/magarita snails for the slime algae (whichever is more readily available) How many would be a good number?

What would be a good replacement for shrimp? I was thinking about a Serpent Star and a Sand Sifting star as a replacement for shrimp. My concern is that everything I have read about them say that they are rather touchy to acclimate and that a very precise drip method has to be used. Anyone have these species that could share there experiences with them? Thoughts in general?

i like cerith, nassarius, margarita, and astrea snails. i would toos the idea of a starfish. go with a fighting conch or a cuke instead. starfish are very delicate and will usually starve (depending on which one you get) in captivity. they require large, mature tanks with lots of established live rock.

Good call on the conch, Just read up on them. Seems that would be a perfect fit for what I am looking for. How many would be good to get in a 75g FOWLR tank?

How many snails would be sufficient?

Be weary of conchs as they can get huge...

I believe...

Florida Fighting Conchs don't get as big. Mine moves around the tank a ton.

This place has a nice clean up crew package, plus a lot of it is captive bred.
