View Full Version : "Finding Nemo" segment on the Early Show
For those of you not aware, there was a recent segment on the Early Show on CBS where a rep. from Tetra demonstrated how to set up and maintain a marine tank. According to those that saw it, she provided extremely poor and downright irresponsible information and many are boycotting Tetra products.

I will be posting this on the Freshwater section as well.

I saw the segment. The rep basically placed two clownfish, a blue tang, two seahorses, and a brittlestar in what appeared to be a minibow 5 gallon tank. The tank was less than 15 gallons, to be certain. They talked about how "easy" it was to set up a SW aquarium, but mentioned nothing about cycling the tank. The livestock list costs over $100, and you can gaurantee that everything listed (except MAYBE the clowns) will die during the cycle. It was an exceedingly irresponsible broadcast by CBS. Posting the same thread in multpile forums, especially when one already exists in GCC is frowned upon. I locked your thread in GFW.
If anyone cares to reply, please do so in the thread in GCC. It's easier if everything is kept together.

Do you post under the same moniker on the TQNT board?

What is the TQNT? Guess that means I don't--I use this name here, at Tom's Place, a garden group, and a DIY forum (non-fish related).
Grace--not a problem, just housekeeping! ;)
