Was in the bedroom changing out of my police uniform and sitting at the foot of my bed. I glanced in the tank thinkin' my wife just fed the fish, but she didn't. I looked closed and saw this:

Pretty cool. From reading on here, I guess I should just leave them in the tank? The Jewels are doing a great job at keeping the Red Tips, Convicts, Yellow Lab, FireMouths, and Jacks away.

Is this the best bet? This is the first day I've noticed them and they're all staying in a tight group. Any further advise would be greatly appreciated. I read about feeding beginners food(some kind of powder) and then I could go to crushed flakes after about 3 weeks. Is this correct? I'm a newb to the Jewels and Cichlids as far as breeding, as I've never had a breeding pair that I noticed.
:help:

congratulations on the fry and nice jewels! If you want to raise the fry then It may be a good idea to move them to a seperate rearing tank, as its likely that the other fish in that tank will eventually eat most if not all of the fry if they are left in there. good luck

Sweeeeeet!

Dang Fish....They're becoming as addictive has my cars, lol....Just got home from Wally World with a complete 55gal kit. Took about 25 gallons out of my 100 and transferred it to the new 55. Then topped it off. Switched out one of the filters from the 100 to the 55(100 is equipped with two. I've also placed quit a few of the plants from the 100 into the 55. My Rhino Pleco keeps uprooting them because the terd likes hanging out in the middle of the "forest." Maybe he thinks he's Link or something, lol. So the 55 is kinda like my plant nusery too now. Later tomorrow I'll check on the number of Fry I have. Since discovery, I counted 32...The count is still the same right now. The parents have been doing great keeping the predators at bay. Surprisingly, this guys has been helping quite a bit too:

That brings my count to:
100 gal
55 gal
12 gal
1 pint, lol
**** these fish. My cats are absolutely loving me though. But I think my Cat(OreoAmongUs Species) likes the food more than the fish. Came home with a whole container spilled on the floor and half gone a few months back.

As for the Fry, was I correct about finding that powder food? Then getting them to crushed flakes after about 3 weeks? Insight would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!!!!!!

commercial fry food would probably work, or you could grind up some regular food and try that. i have some convict fry right now that im raising because the lfs showed interest in them. you might be able to sell some of them. ask your lfs if they are interested
