Hi there,

I'm new to this site and found it because I'm concerned about my Angelicus catfish. I purchased him about a year and a half ago. He's currently living in a well-established 20 gallon aquarium. Recently he has been listless and not excited about food. I feed him both Nutrafin Max sinking tablets for bottom feeders and Nutrafin staple food at night. He now spends all of his time upside down behind the powerhead and tends to drift sideways a bit.

He looks absolutely fine, his color is even good. Being about 3 inches long, I don't believe he's too old. However, it just seems that he's slowing down in old age. My water quality is good and I have no other fish that are picking on him. Does anybody know what could be up with this guy? Any suggestions? I'm pretty attached to Simon and hate to lose him.

Thanks in advance,
Laura

I have had my angilicus about a year. He has a little hidey hole and stays there most of the time. He dosn't always come out to eat but does ocasionaly. I believe this is just the way the are.
solitary and nocternal for the most part. When it comes to food
mine realy like the spalini(sp.?) floating/sinking pellets.

My angelicus are quite solitary. They don't come out often, and I frequently forget they're in the tank. If color is OK and if he/she doesn't look too sunken in around the belly, I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for responding. I was worried about him because he's usually so outgoing and friendly. His sides are definitely not sunken in, he's quite fat in fact.

Appreciate the feedback!
