So, this will officially be my first post. I have read a ton of great info here and I feel that this site has helped me quite a bit with my tank.

My tank is about 5 weeks old and is doing great. I find myself sitting in front of the tank instead of the TV looking for anything new. :)

Well, last night I found something that I had not seen before and I have no idea what it might be. Can someone help me identify it?
The picture is not fantastic, but I think it should be good enough.
I am guessing that it is some type of worm, but I am really unsure.
There are 3 of them and they all look identical.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have three sponges, my understanding is that they are beneficial. I'll try to see if I can locate the specific name for them. I have at least 50 in my sump.

I'm taking a guess here as they are so small, but I think they are sponges. Have you tried touching them? Does it retract or is it soft to the touch?

Almond - you beat me to the punch.. :)

Agreed. Harmless filter feeders that are typically found in new tanks, in sumps and overflows and will wane as their food source goes away.

Everyone here nailed it, that is what they are. As Grins stated, those little guys will disappear before to long.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'll try to post some pics of my tank once I get some good ones. I have to play with some of the settings on my camera.
