My 75 temp as of right now is 87.3F and I do not even have the heater plugged in. For lighting I have a PC strip with a total of 130W, 2 65W bulbs. How do I control this temp.? My tank sits in the dark no sun directly shining into it so why is this tem so high? I don't plan on buying a chiller or can I really afford one so what else can I do to knock the temp down?

A couple of questions. How high off the water surface is the light? With temps that high I would be doing the ice cubes in a sealed ziploc bag in the sump to help bring the temps down. Have you installed a fan blowing across the water surface to also help reduce the temps via evap. And you haven't lost any of your livestock yet?

I'd say my lighting is about 5" above the water level with a glass top. The fans you're talking about they should be installed in my lighting strip, correct? Just how should the temp be? It seems my temp jumps in summer about 4 degrees. I turn the air on only when it gets very humid out so its not on the whole summer.

Is this high temp hurting my mushrooms? They look sick and I just had my water qualities checked out and they all look good. I'm assuming its the temp of my water thats hurting them.
