It makes me happy watching my plants produce little oxygen bubbles. I hope others will reply to this post with their plant photos doing the same. :)

That is most certainly O2. The first two are streaming from the cutting of the leaves, the last shot is a great pearling shot. Very well done.

I am growing some riccia too. Going to lay them on the gravel soon. Can't wait to see the pearling on them.
That's a very nice photo of vals close up! Did you take the photo, Sorab?

bubbles stream from cut leaves because many plants are vascular, think of it like bleeding O2... thank goodness it doesn't scream! nice looking plants
Yeah, Salihan, I took the pic with a canon D400, it’s a good camera so getting good pics is not so difficult.
Thanks all for the nice comments.
loaches r cool

Sorab - just curious what lense you were using I'm seriously looking into DSLR's.

Nice photo Loaches!
My Panasonic Lumix FZ5 is good normally, but it doesn't like taking underwater photos. The autofocus ****s me! I want a new camera!
Tristan, its a canon macro 60mm lens, the 100mm is better I believe. Lovely shot of the Lotus leaf.

Thanks for the info. Everytime I see a good pic I like to ask what equipment was used. You can get so much closer with a macro lense than I could - in the Lotus pic the leaf is probably 8" across. It was on my 'ancient' Powershot S1 IS (3.2MP). I am either going to ask my wife for the S5 IS for christmas or if i've been a really good boy maybe an XTi. :)
I am wondering if the title terminology is wrong though... breathing would normally be associated with respiration which plants do (take in o2, give off co2). Whats pictured though would be plants photosynthesizing, or plants giving off o2 in the form of pearling, or in some pics streaming. Just an observation.

Good point! My science teacher husband would be disappointed in me for not giving a correct title!
