I decided to take some picture of my fish. When I purchased them, it was out of an assorted tank and I dont know the specific type of fish, although i know they are cichlids. so if you know please let me know.

they're all Lake Malawi cichlids (one could be a Lake Tanganyikan fish- not sure)- sorry not got my cichlid book with me
they're africans (as you know) and malawis imo.
getting them out of an assorted tank will generally mean hybrids as opposed to purestrain 'species'. Yours have a lot of characteristics of pseudotropheus genus.
nice fish and good luck with them !

there are definitely no gouramis in those pics.
all malawi cichlids, but hard to be more specific than that.

1 and 4 are ps. blue zebra i had 2 of the same fish lol male female i had no spawn sadly but i know what they are plus the cool thing is sometimes they are red but they are the same exact ps. zebra but the color change is due to the geolagical location and population of each sex good luck i think the 1,4 are pure breed ps. zebras nice buy from a assorted tank and there nice fish in general my female was about 5 in and the male was about 6 and 1/2 in.
