Just like the title says. I transplanted some amazon micro sword into the 50, and darned if it's not sprouting black hair algae. Short of uprooting it, washing it in prime, and sticking it back in, any suggestions?

Blackout? I'm not to sure if you have to reduce nutrients or add....but when I had this I did a 4day black out and it was gone. I then started a new regime for my ferts, havent seen it since

I had this problem......
Like you said, I would uproot it, dip it in Prime, and replant. If you catch it early enough this will work. I had it on my lace java fern and it worked, but I did miss one of the plants tucked in the corner and by the time I noticed it nothing seemed to get rid of it on that particular plant so I ended up just tossing it. I swear it's because I was using root tabs at the time. I have not used them since. I have heard that dosing Excel will help. What ferts are you using?
