my friend has a tank of a bunch of guppies that rapidly reproduce and he offered to give me some as food for my 2 medium african cichlids. will they like it?
What kind of african cichlids do you have?
There are many types of african cichlids with different food requirements, so knowing what you have will help you get a better answer to your question.
Re-consider live food. It is often a source of disease and there is no need to use it. If you use it you should breed your own so you know you have no problems.
As said above quite a number of africans (e.g. rift lake cichlids) will simply ignore live 'food' anyway as they are vegetarian.
