Hey my betta has been really bloated in the stomach for about a week and a half now. He had a fungus on his back that I thought might have been the cause, but the fungus has been healing nicely with meds and the bloated stomach is not going away. His stomach is puffing out, he's a dark blue color, and the individual scales around the stomach are turning grayish, but not a gray fuzzy fungus. each scale in the middle is a bit gray, what might this be? Its not over-eating, i was gone all weekend and he didnt eat and it didnt go down. Help if you have any experience with this!!!

He lives in a 5 gallon tank, that gets an 80% water change every 2 weeks. All water parameters show up normal but i think the meds might show different levels than actually exist. Let me know what you think, I dont want to lose this little guy!

Thanks!

I dont know about your betta, But one thing I would do is start changing water once a week, maybe twice a week, and reduce it to 25% instead of 50%.

willthat help your fish??? I dont know, Indirectly maybe due to cleaner, more stable water, but I think removing 80% water is making things a little less stable, and going two weeks for changes gives the water a chance to accumulate a lot of DOCs and such.

Dropsy?...And dropsy would not respond to fungus meds because it's a bacterial infection.

Hm, yea i think it might be dropsy after looking at some photos online. Just added alittle salt...any suggestions? What remedies are available?
