I noticed My BP's were guarding a rock today and found a bunch of eggs, what are the chances they will hatch?Should I pull the rock out and put it in a breeder tank?or is it worth trying since I've read most males are sterile. There's three BP's and a yellow with black stripes African Ciclid in my 55g.

It's up to you, my FireMouths just spawned again, so I removed the rock with the eggs and placed it into my fry tank with a divider to keep the fry away from the eggs.

there is a very small chance that you will get fry from a pair of BPs.
sometimes, females will lay eggs together.
the majority of males are infertile

This is true. My spare tank use to have parrots (my wife bought me 4 for valentines day 2000). Use to lay eggs every month or so. Never hatched.

i'm not a fan of BP's, but I'm curious as to whether there will be fry in most cases.
