Angels

Well I have been helping out the LFS in town here get there SW section going and helping them out with some of there customers so they ordered them for me and I am getting them at there cost :grinyes: . They are about 2 inch bodies and they have been in quarentine for about 2 weeks and they are looking good. I have my PH the same as theres and we are both on well water so it should be an easy acclimation, I hope, but I plan on doing a drip for about 1-1 1/2 hours.

congrats..I'm a bit envious. Altums have to be imprted as they are not captive bred.
I am having a discussion here with a fellow who has stated he has Altums and has captive bred them.
(very unlikely)

I know they are all wild caught (for now) and there is the challenge, first keeping them healthy and growing then hoping I can get them to spawn. I know there are people all over the place attempting to breed them but someday someone will get it right and then we will have captive bred Altums. I learned about first raising angels then breeding them from an old breeder that from what I was told was considered one of the top breeders in the US back in the 60's and 70's, dont know if thats true or not but he did have some incredible angels as in finnage and colors that I dont see very often if at all so I hope I can remember everything he taught me.
