Duckweed question ?

Is it a good idea to put Duckweed floating plants in a 10 g fresh water tank consisting of:

5 Tetras, 1 Blue Gourami, 1 Dwarf Gourami, 1 Chinese Algae eater and 1 Long-finned Danio.

I really want to put floating plants in my tank but I have been told that keeping them require maintenance for the tank and stuff like that.

Please advice.

1. What current plants do you have? Remember that duckweed can choke out other plants if it runs amuck.

I have no plants in my tank.

Then duckweed would not be a bad idea :). It is fast producing, and is a good nutrient sponge. Get a teaspoon of it from someone - trust me, that's all you'll need.

Duckweek is also relatively easy to keep in check too, just need a small net to scoop out the excess.
