I am trying to get a group buy together for Oceans Motions. Their group buy rules can be found here (http://www.oceansmotions.com/store/group.php) , but basically if we purchase 5 motorized units (4 way, 8 way, OM squirt) we get 10% off the entire purchase (Revolutions, extra drums). 6-10 units and we get 15% off. 11 units or more and we get 20% off.

You can take a look at my eBay profile if you like, my screen name is the same on eBay.

If you are interested in joining up for a group buy pm me and let me know.

The rules state that it will only be shipped to the assigned group member who deals with ocean motion...it is then going to be down to that member to post out the order to the other members....effectivly, people shall be paying twice the ammount for postage...or rather 2 postage costs....

Group Buy Requirements
* all communication is with one Group Buy Planner who organizes the entire group.
* one payment via PayPal for the total amount of the Group Buy Order.
* one address to ship the entire Order to for distribution to the participants.

What he said. Hence the reason I gave my eBay screen name so you could see my feedback. True, you essentially pay for shipping twice. But if we can get enough people for the 20% discount, it more than makes up for it.

If you check the OM site, shipping is included in the price as long as they are shipping to the U.S. or Canada. I'm not sure if this is the case for group buys or not, but I have sent an e-mail to Paul @ OM to ask about it.

As far as how much it would cost to ship it out from me, you're guess is as good as mine. It would depend on where you live and how much your order weighed (this is the part that I really have no idea on).

If you want a ball park figure, I live in West Lafayette, IN (47906). If you go to UPS or FedEx you can get a shipping estimate with the zip codes and guess a weight (can't be that heavy?). I'm obviously not trying to make money on shipping, so you would only pay actual shipping cost.

Paul got back to me. This is only an estimate since we don't have an actual order, but he said in general for a group order you will save $8 to $10 on shipping over what you would pay by yourself(~$20). So in the end, you will probably not quite break even on the shipping part of it, but we would still come out ahead with the discount.
