45g help please

i havea 45g with a pair of cons about 2 in and a pair of salvinis about 3 1/2in and i just put a male trimac in there about 3in and the salvinis wont leave him alone what can i do?

Rearrange the tank decor. If that doesn't do it, go to home depot and get some eggcrate. Cut a divider to fit your tank. Partition off a third of the tank and put the trimac in it. This will allow the salvinis to see the trimac, but not get to him. After a while, they should give up trying to get to him then you can remove the divider.

Your planning on up grading to a much larger tank?
2 pairs of highly aggressive cichlids in the same tank may not be a good idea.
