I am a goldfish mom and having trouble:help:. I am having trouble with my nitrites and nitrates in my 30 gallon freshwater. Ammonia problems in my 55 gallon I need all the help I can get! Some changes have occured in both tanks in the last 1 and 1/2 weeks . I dont think my babies are very happy! Alocal pet store GAVE ME BAD ADVICE! And some of my precious babies are suffering Now I am going to a New store who is helping me but really specialize in salt water. I need someone who REALLY KNOWS goldfish to help. Thanks Jamie

were theese tanks cycled before you bought the fish? what was the bad advice? for now lots of water changes will help the water. also test the water you are useing for water changes to see if it could be contributing to the nitrate/nitraite problems.

how many and what kinds of fish?
ammonia/nitrite/nitrate?
what kind of filter? how do you clean it? when is the last time you cleaned it?
water changes? how much/how often?
what symptoms do the fish have?
what are the "changes" to the tanks that you mention?

55g- same questions

Love to help but need details...it sounds like you have other fish than goldfish in your tank...i may be wrong... but that kind of how it sounded. ---O ya and welcome to the site :)
