If I'm not mistaken they require medium to high light (2-3 wpg) at a daylight spectrum.

Moreover, where did you buy that hairgrass? The only places I can find it are too overpriced!

I got 10 pots about 6 months ago and now I have it almost completely covering 3 large tanks. The prices are good but shipping is expensive. The good thing is it always arrives in perfect condition. I got some from china and it was mostly rotten. With good light/water/co2/nutrients it bounces back quickly but that means you need to let it get healthy before you aquascape with it.
I have all high light/high tech tanks so it spreads fast but even in my low tech tank it grows.
Don't be fooled by the name dwarf. I think there is two different species of hairgrass because I've seen it labeled as max height 3" The stuff I have has grown as high as 6" but with proper trimming it looks great.

Looks great! :)

May I ask.. what type of ferts do you use?? Whats your schedual?

Photo period about 8hrs/day.
I use that NPK stuff 2x week and ADA step2 every day.
I add excel once or twice a week just for good measure.
There is no rhyme or reason to what I do. It works or I fix it. I recently got BGA from low nitrates but only on the rocks. I used h2o2 and scrubbed the rocks and did a 100% water change. So I have algae problems occasionally I just take care of them at first sight. My plants grow too fast for algae so thats good but its a lot of work too. There is a give and take with high light tanks. I have a low tech tank that looks just as good.
