Alright, well, I have kept many aquariums over the years, and never have I had such an amazingly hard time with a tank...
Alright, well my tank has been up and running for almost 2months.. maybe more.. i dont know.. anyways, I did the cycle by seeding the tank.
Long story short, I have a pair of blue rams and some neon tetras. The blue rams laid eggs, and then the eggs turned into little free swimmers, so then I took out all the neons. After about 3 days or so of the fry swimming around, they dissappeard, (i think they ate them, cuz they couldn't have been sucked up or anything, i put a sponge over my intake) Anways, ever seince the fry have been gone my tank has been cloudy. I dont have any readings of ammona or anything like that, so i dont belive that they are rotting in there or anything, so my only guess of why my tank is cloudy once more is that maybe the bio load crashed??? Could that happen? Even with fish still in the tank?? Im thinking so.. But im wondering what you guys think..

well, if the fry did indeed die, the cloudiness could be a bacterial bloom taking care of an ammonia spike that you didn't catch. get some of the tank water and put it in a clear glass. stand in sunlight and hold the glass up against a piece of white paper. does it look white, green, or brown-tinted? white is bacteria, green is algae, and brown is simple dirty water.

how old is your test kit? if it is expired then it may not be picking up the ammoina.
