I went out and picked up an air pump and sponge filter for my fry tank and finally get it set up yesterday. I'm pretty sure I'm SOL on the pump; it works but it's noisy. However the room sounds like a fish store with all the bubbles from the filter. What would be the best way to cut down on the noise? I'm thinking either stuffing some sponge into the tube on top or buying a valve to restrict airflow.

Put an airstone in there to make smaller bubbles. The filter will still work fine. If it were me I could choose one of those long white "discard-a-stone"s.

You can get a control valve for under a dollar at the pet store.

Heh, yep, smaller bubbles would do the trick. Thanks.
