Does any one know if a Pleco alge eater will eat my plants. Its giving the barbs in my kids tank hell.

They don't usually eat plants. They can be buggers for pulling them up as they swim around with those stiff pectorals though.

My bristlenose has been rubbing my Rubin sword a bit too close but it's not purposely eating it.

The pleco shouldnt eat your plants if you keep it well fed. It may , however, uproot your plants with a swing of its gigantic tail.

It may also depend on the type of plants you keep. In my experience, I have found that my pl*cos are much less likely to eat plants with thicker leaves such as java ferns. This said, I think that most of the time any damage to plants caused by pl*cos is accidental, either by uprooting them with the fins or tail, or by accidentally munching the edges off trying to eat the algae.
