I have two HOBs on my 55, a Penguin 170 and a 200. The 170 has the biowheel, but the 200 doesn't. I got them both from somebody who didn't use the wheels on them, so he didn't have them. The 200 is also missing it's bearings. I bought a new wheel for the 170, but can't seem to find wheels or bearings for the 200. I also have a Hydor 1600 canister filter.
My question is, will the 170 be a good bio filter only (no filter pads), while the 200 and the can handles all the mechanical/chemical filtering? Should I add in something to help the wheel in the 170 do the biological filtering?
