I really do want to know what you guys think would be neato in my 35 gallon. The catfish are the cory kind. THAT KIND. Please offer me some suggestions already!

Seriously, you should choose the cory based on what you like and what is available. Everyone has there favs, mine are the panda corys and the peppered corys...I like spots. :grinyes:

35 is too small for most types of catfishes (that is the larger kind...not corys).

sorry guys, this poster is trying to tell us that he already has cory catfish.
my fault, i never followed up after asking what kind of catfish he has.

sailor jet, you need to have a whole school (6 or more) cory catfish.. so i would start by getting 4 more of them.
then i would get some more guppies and mollys, or you could get a school (6 or more) of small tetras.

you need to be careful when adding fish to your tank because the frog will be very sensitive to deteriorating water quality. be sure there are no ammonia spikes and keep up with your water changes (50% a week or so)

SERIOUSLY? FOR REAL? How about you check out a decent pet store and see what you like. Then you can come back and ask about compatibility. If you want to copy someone else's tank, the best you'll have is a cheap imitation.

that was completely uncalled for. the entire point of this forum is for sharing and getting advice about fish, including information about interesting species that might work well in a specific tank.

as for the OP, i would increase the number of cory catfish, get more of the same kind. with a larger school you will see greater activity and even breeding behavior once they settle in. they are happier overall in larger groups. in the wild during breeding you can find them schooling in the thousands.

I'll be getting more cory mans as soon as I can. I'm out of money, so it's going to have to wait, but they've been just the two of them for over 6 months. And one of them has gotten an eyeball sucked out!! They're troopers. I'm excited to see them all school. Mostly they school with their reflections.
