....what kind of plant is pictured on the front of the Flourish Excel bottle? I'd like to know because I inherited a plant from a friend that looks exactly like the one on the bottle. He didn't know what it is and have no clue either.

Funny thing, since I started using excel, the unknown plant grown faster, better and prettier than any of my other plants. :grinyes: Weird!

Thanks!

Java Fern?

I looked Java Fern up and it doesn't quite match my plant. My plant is more crinkly looking with rounder leave tips...any other thoughts on what it might be then?

Wait, actually I think I might have found my plants I.D. I think its called APONOGETON BOIVINIANUS and it looks like this:

I don't think that looks like java fern at all...I can see the plant in my mind...I've seen it before, but I can't remember the name. Some sort of apongeton. Maybe When I get home from school I'll look on one of the plant oriented forums for it. It's not a very common plant to find in stores, mostly only online stores have it.

That would be easy to tell apart. The apon. has a large bulb. The java fern will have a creeping rhizome. The apon can also grow at an alarming rate... wheras java fern is relatively slow. The apon can also get huge, like 2-3' long atleast.

Here is a pic of java fern and the link to where it was taken from.

It still doesn't look like it to me. Look at the edges of the plant, you'll notice they have a sort of ripple to them. It just stands out to me. I really don't think that's java fern. I do wish I could have the bottle right in front of me, so I could see a clear picture and not a blurry one...:thud:

EDIT: Got it....
