My lemon jake pair had babies...there are at least 11 of the little
guys they are soo cute. So should I try to move the mother and babies
or just the babies or will they be ok...I have three pair total in my
120 gallon tank but I don't want them to be eaten...
whats the suggestion on feedings and how do I get food down to the
babies and when i feed them the other three come over to try and eat
the babies...

Help please...This is my first cichlid baby experience:jaw:

With a big tank like you have and lots of hiding places you should be okay. And as for feeding them, how big are they and how many weeks? When we first had our second batch of fry, we would coax the older and bigger fish to one side and then drop in some frozen brine shrimp around the areas where the babies hid. And they grew, but then some disappeared. And now we have 2 left in the 80. But, mama lab was carrying again so we moved her to a fry tank and we still have all 7.

So if you feel safe enough in catching the fry and wanting to rear them, then you might want to move them to a smaller tank (fry tank, say a 20-30), and watch them grow and get to know you. Our little labs (I call them the 7 Dwarves) come up to the top of the tank now when they are hungry. And they know who we already are. Sad thing though, we will only be keeping maybe 2-3. Because we have more males in the 80 than females. So we have to wait to see until they get bigger.

But good luck, and keep us posted. And I know others will give ya advice also.....
