I have 2 questions, the first one is about a clown afra. I noticed one of my 4 afras has stopped eating even though it shows interest when I feed. It looks as if his mouth is full so that's what leads me to believe that she is holding. She's also extremely agressive and chases all the other fishes out of her territory, is this a holding behavior? She still breates with her mouth, it opens a bit but not a whole lot like the other fishes.

Alright, the other question is about my otopharynx lithobates (yellow blaze), he had stopped eating for 2 days now and he went from a brown/grey with black spots color to an all green and black robe (he's gorgeous). What could this be?

Seens pics and the afra is definetely holding, it's like a holding pouch under her mouth. Awesome!

Now if I can just figure what is happening with my yellow blaze...

Added some rocks, moved the plants, did a 30% water change. Hopefully this will resolve the problem. He has started to get his normal colors back.

If someone has any suggestions, please do.

First ones holding. The lithobate may be stressed because of territory problems with the breeding fish.

Whoa! 2 Clown afras are now holding and one perlmutt!

This is breeding frenzy volume 1 :)

Can't wait in 3 weeks, hopefully a few will survive in the tank.

what tarheels said - I pretty much agree. The lithobates sounds/looks stressed and presuming your water parameters are good the breeding behaviour is likely the reason.

Well my lithobate didn't eat for 2 weeks and a half and this week, he has started to eat again.

2 out of the 3 holding fishes lost their babies by lack of experience I believe since it was their first time holding.

I just hope he won't go through this again when they start holding again.
