Just thought I'd share some photos of some of my reptiles. These are my Leopard Geckos and they both just turned 15 this summer! I also included some pictures of their kids. My female geckos was born without toes on her right hind foot if anyone was wondering. Turtle photos to come!

Here are my Eastern Box Turtles. The two girls eating the blueberries I've had for 20 years now! I have 3 females and a male and I'm hoping for lots of eggs this spring. Eggs=baby turtles!

And last but not least, my baby Stinkpot Musk Turtle. These photos are a little old, he's actually twice the size he is in the first shot! He's also a little camara shy, as you can see.

Beautiful!! Is their anything special that cause that unique coloration of the turtle in the last few pics?

Actually I have never sold any. I release most of them back into the wild after I keep them for a year to get some size on them. It gives them a better chance of survival and lowers their mortality rate too.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

No two Eastern Box Turtles look the same. Even though they all appear different, they're all the same species above. Some are just brighter or prettier then others. That last turtle you are refering to is a female named "Sparky" (I named her when I was 8, don't laugh!) She's my favorite of the 4 because she's so friendly and will walk right up to me as soon as she sees me. And she likes to be scratched on the head and she eats right out of my hand. I've had many breeders offer money for her because of her bright coloration.

Thanks again for the nice compliments! Most of my turtles, present and past, were victims of being hit by cars or lawnmovers. I nursed them back to health if I could and released most of them back into the wild. The few I've kept are for breeding purposes.

Turtles are nice pets jinkz, but you have to be prepared for animal you might have to leave in your will! It's not uncommon for a box turtle to live more than 100 years.

I know it! Which is why I dont have one. I was an exotic pet vet tech before I started having kids....I don't take any pet that I cannot provide a more than adequate home and realistic care.

Beautiful geckos, looking a little stiff for their age, I can tell ;). Great turtles too, how big will that baby stinkpot get? Do they smell or something (Makes you wonder with a name like stinkpot musk turtle)?

:OT: I'd love to get a russian land tortoise/box turtle, I could probably find someone I trust to take it after I'm gone, I just don't have the money or space at the moment

That is what's nice about my box turtles DP, they live outdoors all year long. They hibernate in the winter, which is nice!

Musk Turtles rarely release any musk an captivity. But if you catch a wild one, watch out! If my turtle is a male, he'll get to about 4 inches. Stinkpot's are one of the smallest species of turtles in the world.
