I'm sure this has been asked before, but what do you do for a living, and how do you find time to keep to your hobby?
I work in a kitchen at a camo part time, and am study at college for the rest. It can be a bit of a challenge for me to find time, but I always manage to.

Currently Nothing. I graduated from high school in June I just turned 18 I am going back to school to get my sciences and upgrade my math but my mom says I still have to find a job, I don't mind working it's just going to school everyday then working and then finding time to do math homework, I'm horriable at math and it takes 5x longer then everyone else to get their math work done!

Unemployment, Mgamer?
I'm a carpenter by trade and have built everything from kitchen cabinets, counter tops, entertainment centers, book cases, tables, decks, trim and molding installation, trade show exhibits, etc.
I've also worked in the Aquarium trade for a few years and had my own aquarium maintenance business at one time.
I've also done tree work and landscaping as an alternate means of income.
Recently, I've been delving into internet based businesses (affiliate programs using clickbank, google adwords, paydot.com, etc.) and have bought the rights to a couple of web sites selling 'information and 'how to' products/deals.
I've been pretty impressed with the results.
middle school teacher.... also have driven wheat truck, pea combine, worked various waitressing/cashier positions and several daycares....
but above it all I am Mom and wife :) it is what I am best at

I help people lose weight and have a 100% success rate.
What I do is get them hooked on crack. The crack makes them lose any appetite plus they have no money left for food. The crack is all they want so its easy to stay on this diet, some even say this diet is addictive.
Since they have no food or money for food, except for the occasional beer and junk food, the fat cells are used to feed the body thus they lose weight.
Its an expensive diet but there are ways to make it a bit cheaper. All in all its cheaper then a bypass and guaranteed to work, you can't say that about any other diet.
It does come with some side effects, some of which could be serious.
The most serious being:
House loss
Job loss
Loss of family
But I have turned 350 lb people into 98 lb people in less then 6 months!

I try to keep power plants runnin'. Its usually a pretty simple job. But working shift work doesnt leave much time for hobbies. I struggle with free time, and doing weekly water changes, heck I dont even get a chance to feed my tanks on a daily basis.

I work part time (20hrs) a week at the local transportation agency here in Orange County. Love the job. Easy going, informative, great boss, great pay. Once I get my finance degree I plan on doing some initial work here to get some experience.
Eventually I want to be a capital loan officer, but that will take time.
Oh, and I'm taking 18 units over at CSUF! And I'm in a fraternity. Sounds busy, but I still have time to take up new hobbies.:grinno:

Funny thing a guy I work with is Mr. Burns, and I do love donoughts lol. But for some reason when I was simpsonized it didnt come out looking like homer, o well (see avatar).
Jackel, actually I work 12 hr shifts. Thats the reason I dont have time lol. I am way to tired to do anything when I get home, and I am not a morning person so having to be at work so early isnt too fun. We are on the 4 night, 3day+3night, 4 day, week off, releif week schedule. Two of the weeks we get 3 days off so it sounds great but thats decieving. Our 3 days off always follow nightshift, meaning your actually working until 6AM on your so called day off, and you got to sleep at some point too. First day off is screwed. Usually the second day off I feel like crap since I just flopped my schedule by 12 hours. Tired all day and good for nothing. So basically I get 1 good day off. Then there is hell week that only has 1 day off anyhow. The only good thing about the shift work is the week off. Releif week can be good or bad, your on call 24x7. Id take an 8 hr day 5 days a week with the weekend off anyday. If I was single it might not be so bad... but my schedule doesnt jive very well with the family.

this is the job my husband has as well...he is a control room operator for steam powered plants....unfortunately he only has about 24 hours off a week...shift work is never glamorous no matter how you look at it. good for you guys who have time for something beyond it!

I hate dealing with the customers at my kitchen(hence why I am still washing pots/prep cooking). I don't see how you can, especially since you must get some pretty dumb/rude people in.

I teach 7th grade Language Arts (reading/writing) in the Bay Area, Mountain View, California specifically. The pay is pretty good (though I'll never own a home) and you can't beat hanging out all day with kids and getting them to love literature they way you do. The summers/random weeks off are also pretty good! :) ~brandy

I manage a group that makes sure 911 calls from our company's wireless phones work correctly and that the 911 center gets the most accurate info possible. Good side, I can work from home when I want. Bad side, on call 24 x 7 for crisis management. I do try to do my water changes while on conference calls though. ;)

I manage (not own...atleast not yet) a pet store full time 9 hours of the day and I wouldn't change it. I love it! Some pet stores are really dirty and don't even take a second look at there tanks and other animals but i pride myself (and the other girls) in doing one 40% (give or take) weekly water change/gravel vacs on all 34 tanks and keeping them clean and the fish healthy. Its not a fast process but our fish are very healthy and well taken care of compared to some of the tanks/fish you see in other locally owned stores! Also, the animal cages are squeezed in there to get cleaned too! Sometimes I gotta stay pretty late at night to get it all done but in my opinion, its worth it!
