Pleco poop!

Hello, Just a question regarding feedind my pleco....I went LFS and he told me to get algae wafer for my pleco. My last one, who died, did good except I was feeding him too early in the day. LFS said to feed at night because the are nocturnal. The poop from my new pleco is longer than the fish and I think that I am overfeeding him and I notice that he has grown considerably in the last month. He is only 3" long. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Pleco's are poop machines!! Just wait :)

I feed mine an algae wafer OR a slice of zucchini every other day in the evening as I'm about to turn the lights out. I also see him nibbling on the flakes that make it to the bottom each day.

I definitely noticed an increase in Pleco waste when I started feeding it algae wafers.

I noticed the biggest jump in size with minimal doody when keeping it on a zucchini diet.

That might just be my experience.

Oh that's interesting Kerouac! I've been lazy and haven't fed my pleco any zucchini in awhile and he's really been pooping more than I remember in the past. I'll have to put him back on a zucchini diet and see if I notice any decreased poopage :)
