Is there any coral that can be grown under a regular aquarium light? No special high sodium or anything. It's just the florescent light that comes with aquarium hoods.

And do I have to drill the tank? Can someone explain that?

There's several non-photosynthetic corals that require no light at all (sun coral, some gorgonians). What size is the tank and what wattage is the light fixture?

No, drilling the tank is not required. What type of info are you looking for regarding drilling the tank?

What's your defination of 'special high sodium'? (corals will require to be kept at full marine conditions).

Also, the non-photosynthetic corals will require regular feeding.

I believe that the OP is referring to metal halide lighting when referencing 'high sodium'.

Yes...sodium vapor is similar to metal halide lighting, but from what I understand its not used because the light spectrum is all wrong.
