i want to put a couple of them in my tank but i havent got much algae is it best to wait until you see some or can i put these in and feed them veggies- wafers for now
You would be supprised at how much algea otto's can find in a tank, Adding the veggie waffers would help.

Depends on how densely it's planted I'd say. I could support six or eight in my jungles. Most folks should stick about three or four.
Wafers should be supplemented with real veggies.

what are otto's
A small sucker type of fish, good for eating algea.
if this is the same tank, shouldn't you sort out the ich / dropsy / etc problems first?
