I was wanting to see what your opinion is on what fish to add to my new 29gal fish tank. The tank is going through the beginning stage of the cycle, but I was just wanting to get an idea of what fish to put in there. So I was wondering if this would work...

1 or 2 Angels
6 Class Catfish
2 algae eaters
and 1 striped raphel (sorry on the spelling) CatfishNote: I am planing on having a planted tank, filled w/ about 5 beginner plants. Fill free to make suggestions. All help is welcome, b.c. I want as many as possible w/ out overstocking. Thanks in advance!

angels get too big. normally people suggest a 29 for just one angel.
also, it depends on the algea eaters. you could probably go with an otto, but probably not any others. and raphael catfish get pretty big too.

1 or 2 Angels - I love that idea, but I am also biased
6 Class Catfish - not sure of these, I have never kept them but thinking about them, they are a mellow fish, mellow enough not to stress the angels too much and that would be my goal if this were my tank.
2 algae eaters - be sure to go with ottos or maybe a bristlenose pleco. Possible a snail or two.... shrimp, cherries may work.
and 1 striped raphel (sorry on the spelling) Catfish - This would do ok, be sure you provide a cave or something for him to burrow in. These guys have the tendency to go into decoration holes and stay put, and sometimes growing too large to leave the decoration through where it entered eventually. Choose your decorations wisely with this thought.

so I should be ok if I add all of the fish except for only one angel?

If you get the Raphael, you can count on not having any small fish (like small tetras or rasboras) because chances are a full grown Raphael will eat them. If you are sure you don't want to add any small fish, then go with the Raphael cat.

I agree, one angel would be best....with the stocking you are looking at, you could possibly get away with 2, but keep in mind they are big fish full grown.

I'd suggest Otos or a Bristlenose as well instead of a generic algae eater.

Glass Catfish need alot of cover, so be sure to plant the tank pretty heavily for them. I've never kept them, but have heard they are pretty skittish fish. You may consider getting 8-10 instead of 6. There are 2 fish generally sold as "Glass Catfish": Kryptopterus bicirrhis (http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/glasscat.htm) which can get up to 6 inches and Kryptopterus minor (http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/kryptopterus_minor.htm) which gets 2.5-3". You want the latter one......that last link explains some of the differences between the 2.
