I have 5 Angels in my 75 gallon planted tank. I went by the LFS today and they had a beautiful flowing black veiled angel for $20. I guess he is a trade in or something. He is huge with long flowing fins. My angels are all smaller, the largest being 3/4 his size.

I don't know if mine will grow those long flowing fins or not, so I was wondering if there is any way to safely add an angel to a 5 week or so established tank?

It isn't a big deal, but this guy is dazzling and $20 for a fish his size sounds like a good deal.

5 weeks as in it just cycled or 5 weeks post cycle? That's a huge difference.

How are your other angels doing? If they are doing well, then there's no reason to not add another. 75 gallons is plenty enough room for 6 angels.

No it is way cycled. It was up for 18 months as a Dempsey tank before I gave my JD away to a guy with a much bigger tank. He was lethargic so I thought it best to give him some more room.

It is fully cycled and everything, I just thought that angels were so territorial they wouldn't accept another fish?

Just rearrange the decor a little if they show any territorial behaviour with the new fish.

you can try re-arranging the decor but it doesn't always work with angels(they seem to target other fish) but the tank is large and if you provide enough hiding places the targeted angel can escape..but watch closely.
