Hi,

I have a heater that has been in a freshwater tank which had some white spot treatment and algae treatment which i believe were copper based treatments.

The heater has been dry for 2 months or so and had a good clean, will it cause me any problems in my new marine tank?

Cheers

If there is any plastic on the heater it could cause a problem. A heater is so cheap that it really isn't worth the chance.

i know that, problem is is that i cleaned it and chucked it in the tank, i didnt even think about it, it is only when i was describing my old tank to a buyer that i realised it had copper in it.

so it is in there already so i take it the damage may already be done. is it reversible?

At that rate I would venture to say it will not be a problem. I have a protein skimmer that had been exposed to copper on my current reef. But if at all possible I would not do it again.
