I have got a blood red parrot fish which is classed as a new world cichlid and i would like to keep some buttekoferi african cichlid would they live togeter or just kill each other i have kept buttekoferi befor and can be agressive with smaller fish . I also have a silver aro a tinfoil barb .pleco, silver shark what would happen :feedback:

Yeah with that silver I am guessing you have a nice 8x3' tank. A butti will tear up the BP, Bala Shark, and tinfoil bards. The pleco won't be bothered much. They will definately get nipped and might be dead in the morning. Butti's are no friendly fish. They are almost like trimac's in aggression and don't back down from any fish. I say the Silver will be fine if the Aro has a good 6-8" on the Butti. Good luck with whatever you do. Butti's are great wet pets just something to think about instead of putting him in a community.

i kept a butterkoferi afew years ago i had three to start with, when i got them they were small ,then they killed all my angelfish and the rest of my tank then they turned on each other until one was left i had it abot 7 years it grew to a 30 cm long monster untill it smashed the heater in the tank and killed it self it weighed about 4 lb when it died it was a good fish to keep buy it self.
