my filter cartridges (emperor) have carbon in them. i was just thinking if carbon takes medication out of water is it taking out the ferts that I am trying to dose?

I asked the same question on a few forums and got told that it shouldn't and if it does, not in appreciable amounts. However, I removed mine so that I could keep the blackwater effect by filtering peat moss.
