View Full Version : My Sick Mushrooms

I bought a piece of LR about 3 weeks ago and it had a few really nice green mushrooms. The mushrooms are really sick looking as of now, the green is sorta fading. My water was just checked and its fine. I only have PC lighting and everyone said that would be enough. I have been changing my water every week. What else do mushrooms require? None of my fish bother them so I'm lost here.:thud:
What are your water parameters?
How high are your shrooms lebloom? They might be adjusting to new light conditions etc. and as grins said what are your params?

My mushrooms now sit on the bottom of the tank. I've had them for over a month now.
NH3- 0
NO2- 0
NO3- 0
kH- 4
pH- 8.2
PO4-<.25
SG- 1.024
CA- 407.9
This what my LFS figured for my on my last check.
Hmmm, do you have them in direct flow?
You might also consider feeding the tank a bit phyto etc. If your water is too clean they might be missing trace elements etc. Also if they are turning brown or brownish it means that they are getting too much light and might do better under an over hang. I'm sort of taking a shot in the dark but, in addition to what grins said those are the most common issues. The second is far more common than the first. Also look for any parasites etc. that may be on them.

My lighting is low its only a PC with a total of 130W. They are browning I guess you coulld say because the green is turning. Whats "Phyto" ?

Very small food
Sounds like a trace supplement issue to me. I also put mine at the ends of my tank so there is a little less light output. Is it discosoma or ricordia?
I think Max pointed out that the Joes Juice or whatnot used for the aiptasia in another thread might be the cause here. Or am I mixing up posts?
