I've got some decorative jars with a tuff of java moss in them. I'm really just testing to see how it does. I'm wondering on what sort of ferts they would need. Java moss doesn't really ask for much in a tank with fish, but without fish I'm sure they will need something to supplement.

Just put some tank water in the jars. I am sure there is some nutrients in that water.

i have vases upon vases of java moss sitting in my window sills....occasionally i will swap the water out. Despite this neglect, its super green and growing, also there are some snails in the jars that are still doing well and reproducing.

I have an EVIL African Clawed Frog in a 10 gallon tank with java moss. There are no lights on the tank but the moss stays nice and green. It does not seem to grow nearly as much as in a lighted tank. I don't add ferts either but the frog does 8) Michelle
