I'm currious as to how compatible a small school of albino tiger barbs would be with a pair of angelfish?

They are absolutely not compatible. Tiger barbs will nip the angels fins to shreds.

What small, schooling, fish would you recommend to keep with a pair of angles? I'd like the angels a center piece with a reasonable sized school to fill space.

Rummy nose tetras, harlequin rasboras, pretty much any smaller tetra just avoid neons.

Thanks! Just out of curriosity, what is the issue with neons? I was always partial to them. For a very common fish, the are beautiful in large schools.

They are small and angels like to eat them. If you start off with small dime/nickel size angels at the same time you put the neons in they will be fine. You just have to start them small together. Cardinals are a better fish than neons and much prettier in my opinion.

placing neons with angels is risky period.
I raised mine with neons and they eventually became angel food. as well as my oto's
larger neons (black) and cardinals seem to be okay with them.
